Cave

The Cave Diver Course is the third step in the Cave Diver training progression. To take this course, the student must have already successfully completed the Introductory Cave Diver course and have logged a number of cave dives outside of training at the Intro level to gain experience. Divers who have completed the Advanced Nitrox course or a Trimix course can opt for the Technical Cave Diver certification.

The course will include several classroom sessions followed by training dives (minimum of 8) conducted in the world-class cave systems of north Florida's cave country.

Minimum Equipment:

  • Manifolded double tanks
  • Appropriate BC w/adequate lift for doubles(“wings” strongly recommended)
  • Two regulators(one with 7’ hose)
  • Primary light(30 watt halogen equivalent minimum)
  • Two flashlight-style backup lights
  • Small knife or line cutter
  • Slate or u/w notebook
  • Time/depth instruments or dive computer
  • Wetsuit or drysuit
  • Appropriate decompression tables
  • Primary reel with 400' of guideline
  • Line markers
  • Jump reels or spools.
